Rain couldn't put a damper on this HOT show!!
I purchased lawn seats for a concert for the first time, and it's hard to believe. Wanting to watch where I spend my $$ led me to spend some time with the masses in the lawn area, partly because I've seen Poison and 3BallMTY at least half a dozen times already. As Murphy's Law would have it, it started raining heavily around 7 PM, just a short while before Cheap Trick was going to hit the stage. Cheap Trick did a shortened set because of the heavy rains - I Want You to Want Me, Dream Police, The Flame, Surrender if my memory serves me correctly.
The heavy rains stopped sometime between 8 and 8:30, and while my t-shirt & shorts (and shoes) were soaked, I was glad the weather finally cleared up (relatively speaking). Poison hit the stage & all systems were go!! They put on a great show as always, and the set list was pretty typical: Look What the Cat Dragged In, I Want Action, Something to Believe in, Unskinny Bop, Every Rose Has its Thorn, Talk Dirty To Me, Nothin' But a Good Time.
The stage around 9:30 was finally hit by 3BallMTY, the act I was looking most forward to see. While I've never been a big fan of Stage Fright from Pyromania, they opened with that one. Since it's one of those songs they don't play on every tour, I guess it was cool to hear it from that perspective. They tore up the stage as usual & hopefully next time, they'll be playing a 3-hour set without having to share the stage with other bands! Again--a pretty typical set for them, but since they are co-headlining on this tour with Poison, it's to be expected that some songs might be left out. I would have loved to have them play Promises from the Euphoria album.
